Calcidiscus gallagheri da Gama & Varol, 2013
Broadly elliptical species of Calcidiscus having a strongly elliptical central area. A porous plate spans the central area. The proximal shield is smaller and birefringent.
Calcidiscus gallagheri differs from Calcidiscus tropicus (Kamptner, 1955) Varol (1989) and Calcidiscus macintyrei (Bukry & Bramlette, 1969) Loeblich & Tappan (1978) by being elliptical. It differentiated from Calcidiscus premacintyrei by having a porous plate in the central area whereas it is vacant in the latter species.
