with diagonal crossbars.
with axial crossbars
Camuralithus pelliculatus de Kaenel & Villa, 1996
Elliptical, deformed placolith arched longitudinally. An indistinct diagonal crossbar spans the central area. The proximal plate is strongly, but the diagonal cross is weakly birefringent [better seen at 45°] in polarised light.
Camuralithus pelliculatus is distinguished from similarly arched Campylosphaera Kamptner (1963) species by being elliptical and having diagonal crossbars. Campylosphaera species are oblong in shape and have axial crossbars.
