Heliorthus tenuis Stradner, 1961
Coccolithus helis Stradner in Gorbhardt, 1963
Cruciplacolithus notus Perch-Nielsen, 1977a
Large (>7.0µm] species of Cruciplacolithus has an axial cross with disjunct feet-like extensions where they meet the tube cycle.
Romein, 1979 re-analysed the holotype and amended the description of Cruciplacolithus tenuis to include feet-like extensions. The original publication fails to recognise the feet-like extensions. Romein (personal com. on 23 Jan 2022) re-confirmed that Dr H. Stradner kindly provided the type slide with the marked location of the holotype of Cruciplacolithus tenuis.
The lectotype designated by Stradner et al., 2010 is superfluous because they do not provide any other information than the lectotype photo.
