Salisia ovata (Bukry, 1973) Varol, 2004 [Salisia Varol, 2004 is pre-occupied by Salisia Lindley, 1839]
Moderately large [4.0 - 8.0µm] elliptical to subcircular species of Vonsalisia Varol (2019) having 13 or more slits in its distal shield.
Vonsalisia ovata differs from Vonsalisia pacifica (Nishida, 1979) Varol, 2019 by having 13 or more slits in its distal shield, whereas the latter has 12 or fewer slits.
It is distinguished from Vonsalisia kamptneri (Varol, 2004) Varol (2019) and Vonsalisia gartneri (Varol, 2004) Varol (2019) by being elliptical rather than strictly circular.
