Olladiscoaster vestigium Varol & Bowman, 2024
Hexagonal, gently stellate species of Olladiscoaster have diamond-shaped segments with quasi-arms. On the distal side, the distinct sutural ridges are created by the deep cavities. The sutural ridges are raised towards the centre and capped by boomerang-shaped distal covers. The distinct proximal ridges with a large petaloid knob decorate the bulged proximal side. The proximal knob is dominant in the side view of Olladiscoaster vestigium.
Maximum diameter: 7.26 µm, Maximum height: 6.11 µm; Diameter of the central area: 5.26 µm, Diameter of the proximal knob: 5.25 µm, Height of the proximal knob: 2.02 µm, Length of the quasi-arm: 1.00 µm, (measurements from bright field micrograph).
Olladiscoaster vestiguum differs from Olladiscoaster tokerae by having a large proximal knob and a more squarish appearance of its segments.
