Rhabdosphaera spinula Levin, 1965
Species of Blackites Hay & Towe (1962) have a long and narrow distal process that gradually tapers to a point. The surface of the distal process is smooth. The inner cycles of the base are birefringent at the side view.
In the publications, this species was erroneously assigned to Blackites spinosus (Deflandre & Fert, 1954) Hay & Towe, 1962.
Blackites spinula is identified from Blackites incompertus Roth (1970) by having a distal process that gradually tapers to a point whereas, in the latter species, the distal process slightly broadens in the middle.
