Syracosphaera mediterranea Lohmann, 1902
Loxolith has a non-birefringent, imbricated outer wall, a birefringent inner wall and a central area with or without distal process.
Coronosphaera differs from Syracosphaera Lohmann (1902) by being loxolith. The latter is a three-shielded placoliths [may be interpreted as loxolith with distal, mid-wall and proximal flanges] with a wide central area with or without distal process.
Coronosphaera is distinguished from Laminolithus Heimdal in Heimdal & Gaarder (1980) by having zeugoid outer and inner walls whilst the latter has a single protolith wall.
