Parallel sided helicolith having a Type III (Helicosphaera carteri type) blanket, an expanded flange termination and a central area with a moderate size central opening spanned by a conjunct often inverse bar.
Helicosphaera inversa differs from Helicosphaera sellii (Bukry and Bramlette, 1969) Jafar and Martini, 1975 and Helicosphaera carteri (Wallich, 1877) Kamptner, 1954 by being parallel sides and having an inverse bar.
