Helicosphaera truempyi Biolzi and Perch-Nielsen, 1982
Large helicolith having a Type III (Helicosphaera carteri type) blanket, expanded flange termination and central area with a large central opening spanned by a disjunct traverse bar.
Helicosphaera truempyi differs from Helicosphaera intermedia Martini (1965) and Helicosphaera leesiae da Gama & Varol (2013) by being larger and having a very large central opening. Moreover, it is further distinguished from Helicosphaera intermedia by having a traverse bar instead of an oblique bar.
