Discolithina desueta Müller, 1970
Species of Discolithina Loeblich & Tappan (1963) having a ring of large pores at the periphery of the central area and irregularly arranged smaller pores in the centre. The wall displays maximum birefringence while the proximal plate's centre is weakly to non-birefringent under the polarised light.
Discolithina desueta differs from Coccolithes anisotrema Kamptner (1955) [invalid ICN Art. 35.1] by having irregularly arranged smaller pores in the centre, whereas the latter has regularly arranged smaller pores in three complete ring of cycles.
