Scientific research and nannopalaeontological database of Osman Varol, PhD
Hayaster perplexus

The current version of this website displays only a portion of the complete database. Content is being added progressively as the site continues to be developed.

Most calcareous nannofossil images (captured using a Light Microscope – LM) were obtained using an Olympus DP73 camera at a resolution of 1600 × 1200 pixels, all at a consistent magnification. Images were saved in both TIFF and JPEG formats using Olympus Stream Basic software. No digital enhancement or image processing was applied during or after acquisition.

All light microscope images were montaged in their original orientation, without rotation. Where possible, specimens were imaged under polarised light, with and without a gypsum plate inserted at angles of -45 °, 0°, and +45°, as well as using both phase contrast and bright-field illumination.
