In plan view under cross-polarised light, the wall and the proto inner wall remain in constant extinction, whereas the central structures exhibit interference colours.

Species of Ahmuellerella are characterised by a single wall, a proto inner wall, and a central structure composed of eight equally spaced radiating paired arms that completely cover the central area.
