Falklandolithus praereticulatus Varol, in prep.
From the Latin prae, meaning "before," referring to it occurring earlier than Falklandolithus reticulatus.
Length: 5.10 µm; width: 4.03 µm.
Small species of Falklandolithus are constructed of a cretarhabdid pelaga composed of inclined segments that formed of inclined segments that are typically weakly clockwise-imbricated, though rarely non-imbricate, and a distally arched central area occupied by diamond-shaped pores, the apices of which are aligned with the axis of the placolith.
The central area lacks both an axial cross and a distal process.
Optical properties consistent with those of Falklandolithus.
Falklandolithus praereticulatus differs from Falklandolithus reticulatus in its smaller size (<6.0 µm).
