Zeugrhabdotus clarus Bown, 2005c
In plan view under cross-polarised light, the outer wall and transverse bar remain in constant extinction, whereas the inner wall exhibits first-order white interference colours. The poorly preserved specimens of Placozygus species may be mistaken for Diploteichus clarus, but they exhibit strong spiralling due to the protolith outer wall. The outer wall is zeugoid in Diploteichus clarus, therefore lacking a spiralling appearance
Small to medium species of Diploteichus have a double wall and a transverse bar. No distal process was noted.
