Glaukolithus mediotripartitus Varol, in prep.
Small Glaukolithus species characterised by a transverse bar composed of three parallel segments of similar strength. At 0° under crossed polars, the two outer segments display first-order white interference colours. The median segment appears longitudinally laminated and is diagonally divided into three parts. The central part is dim, whereas the terminal parts display first-order white interference colours.
From Latin medius, middle and tripartitus, divided into three parts, referring to the distinctive three-part division of the median segment of the transverse bar.
