Glaukolithus papilionaceus Varol, in prep.
Glaukolithus species are characterised by a transverse bar constricted at its centre and progressively widening towards its junctions with the surrounding wall, producing a distinctive bow-tie-shaped structure.
From Latin papilionaceus, butterfly-like, referring to the bow-tie-shaped transverse bar, which is narrowest at its centre and widens towards both ends.
