Retecapsa tetralateralis Varol, in prep.
From Greek tetra (four) and Latin lateralis (lateral), referring to the four lateral bars per quadrant.
The placolith comprises a cretarhabdid pelaga sloping towards the central area, formed of inclined segments that generally display weak clockwise imbrication, and a distally arched central area characterised by an axial cross supporting a solid distal process.
The inter-cross area is occupied by lateral bars that delimit pores arranged in a single complete concentric cycle. Each quadrant typically contains five pores formed by four lateral bars, a feature characteristic of Retecapsa tetralateralis.
Optical properties consistent with those of Retecapsa.
